The Costa del Sol Convention Bureau has welcomed the representatives of 14 travel agencies and incentive travel companies and showed them the hotels, event venues, cultural and leisure activities, and food available on the Costa del Sol for meetings, conventions, product presentations, and incentive trips. This fam trip followed EIBTM in Barcelona, focusing on the latest developments and the projects being carried out in Málaga Province.
The trip was planned with the help of Reed Travel Exhibitions, the organisers of EIBTM, who carried out the previous research and selected the participants. Then, the Convention Bureau sent out the invitations.
In an attempt to reach new markets, we invited travel professionals from Poland and Australia. Likewise, we sent invitations to travel companies in traditional markets, such as the UK, Belgium, Norway, and Sweden.
As we usually do in this kind of fam trips, we invited Costa del Sol-based incoming travel agents and hoteliers to have lunch and dinner with the visiting travel professionals, so that they could make contacts, show their products, share ideas, and so on. The selection was made based on rotation method of our affiliates.
Our visitors, representing high-end travel companies, manifested their interest in our travel destination, saying they liked the weather, the flights connecting Málaga with many different points in Europe, the wide range of accommodations, and the attractive leisure and shopping facilities available.
They also said demand for Spain, and the Costa del Sol in particular, ran high among their customers, who found our region and the country interesting in terms of history, culture, and food. In line with these conclusions, we should go on working in these markets, strengthening and diversifying our advertising and promotion efforts.
